Inspirations

Virulhaka, guardian of the South, stands at the edge of the visible and the invisible. Protector of the underworld, he wields the sharp, luminous sword of karma to remind souls that rigor is also a path to redemption. His presence inspires respect and elevation, austerity and the promise of rebirth.

The composition opens with a mineral burst: metallic bursts of copper and sulfur, caressed by the herbaceous greenness of lovage and the clear brilliance of elemi. The heart sinks into the noble darkness of a mysterious oud, warmed by the dry sweetness of red cotton flower and the smoky breath of choya raal. Finally, the base settles solemnly: amber labdanum, animal castoreum, creamy Peruvian balsam, sharpened by an incisive stroke of clove.

It is an essence of justice and protection, where austerity becomes adornment, and severity rises into luxurious splendor. A scent of transformation, carved from shadow to reveal light.

The perfumer: Anunsith Wongkornvanich

Anunsith Wongkornvanich is a contemporary Thai perfumer, a member of the younger generation shaping his country's olfactory revival. He contributes to promoting Thailand's fragrant heritage through creations inspired by Buddhist culture and local traditions. His work is distinguished by a strong taste for powerful contrasts, between mineral materials, smoky resins, and dense woody accords, as demonstrated by Virulhaka Raja, one of his emblematic compositions.

Alongside his creative role, he serves as Marketing Director at Rebellion Lab & Perfume Bar, an innovative structure dedicated to the experimentation and diffusion of perfume. Although still little known on the international scene, Anunsith Wongkornvanich embodies a singular and promising voice in Thai perfumery, where rigor, symbolism, and modernity intertwine to give birth to rare olfactory works.
