The perfumer: Simon Constantine

Coming from a family deeply rooted in the world of cosmetics, Simon Constantine is the son of Mark Constantine, co-founder of the famous British brand Lush. From a very young age, he grew up in an environment where natural raw materials, essential oils, and olfactory creativity took center stage.

He began his career at Lush, where he worked for over twenty years, contributing to the creation of many iconic fragrances, including Snow Fairy, Rose Jam, Sleepy, and Lord of Misrule. His journey also led him to play a major role in the selection of raw materials and the development of ethical and responsible sourcing.

In 2010, he helped launch Gorilla Perfume, an experimental perfumery project developed with his father. Through this house, Simon Constantine explored an artistic and non-conformist approach to fragrance, favoring bold compositions, unique stories, and emotions over commercial trends.

In 2020, he co-founded ånd fragrance, an independent house based on a conviction: that perfumery can contribute to preserving ecosystems and supporting the communities that produce raw materials. His creations highlight carefully selected ingredients, a regenerative approach, and a deeply personal vision of olfactory art.

In 2026, Simon Constantine also created Toucan for Zoologist Perfumes, a vibrant tropical composition blending exotic fruits, lush flowers, and woody notes, illustrating his fascination with nature and his ability to translate living worlds into olfactory experiences.

Today, Simon Constantine is distinguished by a free, expressive, and committed approach to perfumery, in which each fragrance becomes a means to tell a story, celebrate the richness of the natural world, and rethink our relationship with raw materials.
