Tonight the air is green with clover, hay,
and little tufts of grass in the breeze,
of unstable earth, dusty mysteries
rabbits digging tunnels in the dark. They get lost
in the meadow, sniff the bouquet of wind
of violets. They jump in twos or threes,
their shadows are cotton tails. Or they freeze
when something feathery screams in the distance.
They stand like bushy stones. But now, the night
becomes sweet and jasmine again. A fragrance
of petals presses on their fur. There are fruits
to eat. There is the pleasure of digging into the earth, the sediment
to dig the earth, the sediment
of carrot and root scented dreams.
The perfumer: Fanny Bal

Fanny Bal, a talented perfumer, currently works for International Flavors and Fragrances (IFF), a global leader in the perfume industry. Born in France, she grew up with a passion for scents, which naturally led her to train at ISIPCA, in Versailles, to become a perfumer.

After her studies, she began her career at IFF as a junior perfumer. It was there that she was guided by master perfumer Dominique Ropion, who had a decisive influence on her creative approach, teaching her rigor and precision in the art of composing perfumes.

Fanny’s career took a major turn when she was invited to create fragrances for the Frederic Malle brand. There, she composed famous perfumes such as Eau de Magnolia and Promise, which strengthened her reputation in the industry. She subsequently collaborated with prestigious brands such as Masque Milano and Les Bains Guerbois, while continuing to work with giants such as Givenchy, Calvin Klein and Mugler.

Fanny Bal is known for her ability to combine unexpected ingredients to create unique and complex compositions. Her work is often inspired by art, nature and her personal experiences. Today, she is recognized as one of the most talented and innovative perfumers of her generation, with numerous awards to her credit.
