Mandodari is a fascinating character in Hindu mythology, primarily known from the epic Ramayana. She is introduced as the wife of Ravana, the antagonist of the story, and is often described as a beautiful and virtuous woman. However, her life is filled with tragedies and complexities.

Mandodari is accused of being a femme fatale due to the misfortunes that befell both her husbands. First, she married Ravana, the king of Lanka, who abducted Lord Rama's wife Sita. Ravana's actions led to a great war between Lord Rama and himself, which ended in Ravana's death. Mandodari is often associated with the cause of Ravana's downfall due to her inability to control or influence his actions.

After Ravana's death, Mandodari is forced to marry Vibhishana, Ravana's younger brother who has switched sides to support Lord Rama. This marriage was more of a political alliance and was not based on love or personal choice. Mandodari's life was filled with sorrow and loss, and she had little influence or control over her situation.

In the Ramayana, Mandodari's story is not explored in depth and her character takes a back seat as the epic focuses on the main protagonists. This lack of resolution and conclusion adds to the sense of tragedy surrounding her character. Despite the important role she played in the events that unfolded, Mandodari's story was left untold and unresolved.

The concept of Mandodari incorporates elements such as aphrodisiac narcotic flowers and resins, elements of classic black and white femme fatale films, and a vintage chypre structure with natural Indian materials, which seems to be a unique and evocative interpretation. By mixing these elements, it seems that you are seeking to capture the complexities and contrasts inherent in the character of Mandodari and her place in Hindu mythology.

It is important to note that while Mandodari's character is tragic and her power is limited in the context of the Ramayana, interpretations and adaptations of her story can vary. Some modern retellings explore her character in more depth, attempting to give her a voice and power that was not present in the original epic.

The main Indian narcotic flowers are

Champaca, also known as champak or Magnolia Champaca, is a fragrant flower native to the Indian subcontinent. It has a rich, floral fragrance and is often associated with spirituality and devotion.

Tuberose is a highly aromatic flower known for its intense, heady scent. It is considered a symbol of sensuality and is commonly used in perfumery.

Gardenia is another fragrant flower that gives off a sweet, floral scent. It is often associated with purity and love.

Frangipani, also known as plumeria, is a tropical flower known for its captivating fragrance. Its scent is sweet and exotic.

Aldehydes add a sparkling, fresh, and sometimes soapy note to fragrances. Opium Accord is associated with a rich, resinous scent. It can evoke a sense of mystery and sensuality. Add depth and complexity to fragrances with Civet. Sandalwood is a precious wood known for its creamy, woody, and slightly sweet scent, with a hint of exoticism and depth to fragrances of caraway seeds and deeply earthy and woody oakmoss.

These ingredients, combined in a fragrance composition, can create a complex and layered olfactory experience, blending floral, spicy, woody and exotic elements.

The perfumer: Prin Lomros

Prin Lomros is a self-taught perfumer from Thailand, whose passion for fragrances dates back to his childhood, when he wore his mother's perfumes. Although he initially pursued a degree in film, earning a master's degree in the subject, he quickly realized that his true calling lay in the world of perfumery.

His journey into this universe began when he visited Grasse, France during the Cannes Film Festival, where he took perfumery courses that deepened his passion. Back in Thailand, he joined The Perfumer's World, a perfume company in Bangkok, to hone his skills. This led him to create his own brands: Pryn Parfum, Strangers Parfumerie and Parfum Prissana. In 2020, he merged these brands under the name PRIN, continuing to design perfumes inspired by his Asian roots and cinema.

Prin Lomros' creations have been internationally acclaimed, winning prestigious awards including the Art and Olfaction Awards in 2017 and 2018. His fragrances are also featured in various brands such as Azman, Der Duft, Zoologist Perfumes, and many more.

Prin’s approach to perfumery is unique, merging the narrative art of cinema with the art of olfactory creation. He designs his fragrances as stories, translating images, sounds and textures into olfactory accords. His creations, often infused with Asian elements such as Thai temple incense, are an expression of his personal journey, his cinematic influences and his love of perfumery. For him, each perfume is a work of art, whose interpretation varies depending on the person who wears it.

Prin

Prin is a perfume house founded in 2019, born from a simple and personal vision: to create a perfume that embodies the most authentic style and preferences of its creator. Its central concept is based on a unique olfactory signature, an interpretation of what he would do if he had to create only one, a perfume that deeply resembles him.

Prin's creations are imbued with a nocturnal poetry, where each fragrance transports us into twilight, mysterious and captivating worlds. The soul of the house is nourished by animal materials, raw and powerful ingredients that evoke both sensuality and depth.

The first chapter of this olfactory adventure opens with three striking creations: "Anatolia", a fragrance that celebrates the Orient with its rich and mysterious aromas, "Mandodari", an interpretation of Asian delicacy wrapped in woody and floral nuances, and finally "Aran", a composition that embodies wild nature, a captivating perfume of raw intensity.

These creations are an invitation to explore dark and sublime sensory horizons, where each note reflects the essence of a nocturnal and animal universe. The Prin house stands out for its ability to merge opposites: light and darkness, refinement and instinct, creating fragrances that resonate deeply with the human soul.
