As the sun sinks over the dense rainforest, civets emerge cautiously from the thickets. Under a carpet of narcotic flowers, coffee berries pepper the ground. The humid air is laden with mossy aromas that penetrate every corner, but it is the civets' musky scent that dominates; their marked territory tempts us to enter at our peril.

Zoologist Civet pays homage to the age-old ingredient of civet, as well as to the chypre fragrances of yesteryear—scents that refused to be intimidated by raw, seductive, animalic musks. Civet is a moody and complex blend, shrouded in mystery. It opens with a spicy floral accord, peppered with notes of dark coffee. It slowly unfolds, revealing base notes of leather, moss, and vanilla that combine with the signature civet musk to create a bewildering and sophisticated scent that promises a sultry nighttime rendezvous.
The Perfumer: Shelley Waddington

Shelley Waddington is a renowned perfume designer, known for her unique approach and use of natural raw materials. Based in Portland, she organized the Portland Sniffa event, a gathering of perfume enthusiasts, which attracted attendees from several states and was a huge success. She is also the founder of En Voyage perfumery.

Shelley is best known for her collaboration with the Zoologist brand, where she created Civet, a bold fragrance that captured attention from the moment it was introduced. Civet is distinguished by its sensual and wild character, with notes of musk, civet (synthetic) and coffee inspired by Kopi Luwak. This fragrance reflects the nature of the civet, both luxurious and mysterious.

She also works with exotic raw materials, seeking to tell a story through each creation. Her work is appreciated for its ability to capture unique moods, while emphasizing the use of natural ingredients, making her a respected figure in the world of artisanal perfumery.
